Rasam (with black pepper)



Wish all a very Happy New Year....
As I am back from my Vacation..im still feeling the holiday mood...not very much in the kitchen.....So i just started my days with Rice and Rasam !



Ingredients:
  • 2 tsp Black Pepper (coarse crushed)
  • 1 Tomato (chopped)
  • 2 tsp Tamarind juice
  • 1/2 tsp Jaggery
  • 1 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp Mustard seeds
  • A pinch of Asoefetida / Hing
  • Few Curry leaves
  • 1 Tbsp Ghee / Tup
  • 5 cup Water
  • 2 tsp Coriander leaves
Method:

In a pan add tamarind juice, tomatoes, black pepper, jaggery , salt and bring to boil on low flame.Once it boiled turn off the heat.
Heat a small pan with ghee, add cumin , mustard seeds allow them to splutter. Add asoefetida, curry leaves , coriander and leave for minute or so. Add the boiled black pepper mix and cook for 1-2 minutes.

Serve hot with plain rice.
