Bean Burgers

Bean Burgers are healthy and tasty too! I have added dill leaves to it for more freshness.



Ingredients:
  • 1 Cup Bens (used Rajma/ red kidney beans) (soaked , cooked & mashed)
  • 1 Potato (boiled and Mashed)
  • 1-2 tsp Dill leaves ( chopped)
  • 1/4 tsp Mint leaves (chopped)
  • 1 tsp Red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin powder 
  • 1/2 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp Garam Masala powder
  • Few drops of lemon juice
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp rice flour
  • Bread crumbs.
Method:

  Mix all the above ingredients and make desired size patties. Shallow fry them on on hot oiled tava/ griddle.
Serve hot.
For burger: Apply mayonnaise, mustard sauce  to buns, add some lettuce, fresh tomatoes, cucumber , cheese or any other salad and place these hot bean patties . Bean burgers are ready to eat!


Note:
  • These patties will be soft and may turn little dry too. While shallow frying be careful.
  • Beans must soft and add spices, salt according to your taste as beans and potato requires more taste.

Palak / Spianch Burgers

Burgers!!!!


Ingredients:
  • 2 Potatoes (boiled and smashed with small chunks)
  • 1/2 cup Spinach / Palak (finely chopped)
  • 1/4 cup Coriander leaves (finely chopped)
  • Few leaves of Mint (optional)
  • Few drops of Lemon
  • 1/2 tsp Green chili paste or 1-2 chilies
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/4 tsp Cumin powder
  • Salt as per taste
  • Bread Crumbs
  • Oil for deep frying
Method:

      In a bowl add all the ingredient except oil. Mix everything well so that all the ingredient mix well. Divide into 5-6 portion. Roll into bread crumbs ,shape with your palm as desired.   And let them sit for few minutes.
Heat the oil and deep fry these patties till they turn light brown color. 

Serve with fresh Tomatoes, Onion slice, Cucumber and Mayo, mustard!
Note: Frying  on medium heat so that it cooks properly.

Veg Hot Dog (Deep fried)




Ingredients:
  • 3 Potatoes (boiled and mashed)
  • 1 1/2 cup Rice flour
  • 1/2 cup Bengal flour (Besan)
  • 1 Onion (chopped)
  • 3-4 Green Chilies (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 tsp Ginger (grated)
  • a pinch of Asafoetida
  • Coriander leaves (chopped)
  • Salt to taste
  • Cheese (optional)
  • Oil for deep frying.

Method:
In a bowl add mashed potates, rice flour, gram glour, onion, green chilies, ginger, corinader leaves and salt. Mix it well and make the long rolls.


Deep fry over low flame for 5-6 minutes or until the light brown colour.


Repeat this with remaining rolls. Drain them on paper towel.



Once all the potato rolls are ready, Take the buns and open it. Fill in with Green filling , cheese and place the potato roll inside. Apply mustard sauce and Tomato/ chili sauce.

Serve hot and goes well with Onion rings.

Vegitarian Hot Dog (shallow fried)


This is my version of Vegetarian Hog..



Ingredients:
  • 2 Potatoes (boiled and mashed)
  • 1 Carrot (shredded)
  • 1/4 cup Peas (frozen)
  • 1/2 cup All purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Red chili powder
  • Coriander leaves (chopped)
  • Bread crumbs (to dip the potato rolls)
  • 1/2 cup Corn meal (for coating)
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for shallow frying
  • Cheese
  • Hot dog Buns
  • Salt as per taste.


Method:

Mix the corn flour with water and make a dropping consistency. Keep the bread crumbs in plate and keep it a side.
In a bowl combine boiled and mashed potatoes, carrot, peas , all purpose flour, red chili powder salt, coriander leaves and mix everything well. Make long potato rolls as shown in pic.






Dip these rolls in corn meal then bread crumbs. Heat the pan and pour some oil, place these patties and fry all the side of rolls for 5-7 minutes or till golden color.



Repeat this with remaining rolls.






Once all the potato rolls are ready, Take the buns and open it. Fill in with Green filling , cheese and place the potato roll inside. Apply mustard sauce and Tomato/ chili sauce.

Serve hot with Onion rings.





Green Filling / Spread :
  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 tomato (finely chopped)
  • 1 Cucumber (finely chopped)
  • 1/4 cup Cabbage (shredded) (optional)
  • 1 cup Lettuce leaves (chopped)
  • Salt and Pepper as per taste.
Method:

In a blow mix all the ingredients and keep it in fridge for 15 minutes or so.




Note: While making the potato rolls if its to dry mixture then add very little water so that it holds the shape. (potatoes, carrots contains water) so be careful if you are adding water.

Veg burger






Ingredients:
  • 4 Burger Buns (used sesame seed buns)
  • 1 Tomato (cut round shape)
  • 1 Cucumber (cut round shape)
  • 1 Onion (cut round shape)
  • 1/2 cup Cabbage ( shredded)
  • 1/2 cup Carrot (shredded)
  • 1/4 cup Peas (boil for 2 mints in microwave )
  • 1 tbs of Gram masala
  • 1/2 tsp of Cumin powder.
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • Bread crumbs or Rava (to dip these patties)
  • Oil to Fry
  • Cheese slices
  • Salt to taste
  • Mayonnaise (i use Kraft )
Method:
Boil the potato and mash them add shredded cabbage and carrot, peas, gram masala, cumin and corriender powder and salt to taste and mix all these ingredients and make the patties as per the bun sizes. Take these patties and dip in bread crumbs or rava (this gives an crunchy look).
Deep fry in oil till gold brown.
Take the buns spread mayonnaise inside the bun and put the fresh Cucumber, tomato and onion slice as per your likings, and Put this patties and Cheese slice. Serve with tomato ketchup.



Note: Patties can be done without deep fry. Heat a flat pan and put 2 patties on heated pan in one time. Cook them on medium heat for 4 to 6 minutes or until bottom side gets golden brown both the side.
